LCDC / Kinexx Starter Home Ground-Breaking Featured on Block Club Chicago

We were honored to have our Starter Home and the great work of our clients, Lawndale Christian Development Corporation featured this week in Block Club Chicago. In a great piece by Pascal Sabino on the heels of a ground-breaking ceremony last week, he explains the positive impact the Kinexx home (currently in construction) and an adjacent residential development will have on the Lawndale community and positions these as the beginning of a much larger effort of United Power to deliver a very large volume of affordable housing units to Chicago’s South and West Side working-class families.

According to LCDC Executive Director, Richard Townsell,

“For people of color, homeownership has been the primary vehicle by which regular folks have had an opportunity to have wealth,” said Richard Townsell, executive director of Lawndale Christian Development Corporation.”
